Setting up Win98 Internet Connection Sharing
Annoyances.org – Setting up Internet Connection Sharing (Windows 98)
I’m planning on setting this up in the next few weeks. I know it’s kind of old school, but I need it for a little networking problem in Camri’s office.
She has a Win98 machine that’s connected to our wireless subnet. She also has a “wired” ethernet card in the machine, that she hasn’t used since I set up wireless.
She just won a lottery at work, so she’s taking home an old Mac G3. I want to get it on our network, but I don’t want to invest in another wireless card, or run ethernet cable across the apartment. So, I’m going to put a hub in her office, and wire the two computers. Then, have the Win98 machine route from the two computer wired network to the apartment wireless subnet.
Which means I’ll now have three subnets in the house. My nerd quotient just skyrocketed. I’m in the 98% of nerds in the Chicago land area. Hurray for me!
